Wonder Bar, the ultimate human playground and Instagrammable bar, is now open to all millennials located in Northern Austin. The bar was designed to “activate all five senses”, mentioned by Visit Austin Texas. And if you’re confused, this clearly means that the mission of this bar is to activate all your 5 senses of sight, smell, hear, taste, and touch.
Senses activated? So where exactly can you locate this sense-able bar? Wonder Bar is located in Domain Northside, which took over the St. Genevieve space on Rock Rose.

Initially, I didn’t think I had time to come and visit the Wonder Bar during my trip to Austin, but there was no way I was going to miss out on these countless number of Instagrammable spots. Every section of the bar has a unique persona to it, as their themed room, immediately on your left when entering the bar, comes to life with full of surprises every month.

When I visited the Wonder Bar in Austin, I was hoping to see the room with blown on eggplant emojis all over the walls. Unfortunately, the staff had just switched it up to a Halloween themed room. Regardless, I had fun taking hundreds of photos and recorded a ton of video as there were barely any people visiting during lunch.

The Bar has an indoor and an outdoor area, both which are worth spending time at. And since the weather in Austin Texas is beautiful all year around, drinking out of a science tube is well worth the the amount of chemicals you’re drinking. Just try not acting like a neutron walking into the bar and not asking to get charged for your drink.
Was this even funny? Uhh…
Never mind, no pun intended.

Who Owns the Wonder Bar in Austin Texas?
The Union Venture Group, run by two brothers, Jeff and Darren Van Delden, are the masterminds of Wonder Bar’s creation. Jeff and Darren are known as the brothers who crushed the bar scene in downtown Austin, Texas. But in recent years, have been slowly making their way up to tackle the bar scene in Northern Austin. They have done an amazing job creating the Wonder Bar, as they caught on quickly and sensed the Instagrammable, millennial trends.
Is There a Dress Code at Wonder Bar?
Not at all. There is no formal dress code to enter the bar at all. Unless, you personally want a color popping outfit that will brighten up your Instagram feed. Go all out!
Wonder Bar’s Food Menu
There is a high chance that you didn’t drive all the way up to the Wonder Bar for their food. But, those options are available at your own discretion. Unless you start getting the drunchies after one too many drinks.
If you feel like sharing your food experience at the Wonder Bar with someone else, get the Guac is Extra underneath the Shareables. But if you don’t feel like sharing, find the Selfies section of the food menu, only to take an actual selfie with your food order. Or just simply take a mirror selfie of yourself inside the bathroom.

Wonder Bar’s Drink Menu
Coming from buying drinks in New York City, the cocktails served at the Wonder Bar are extremely well priced. All cocktails cost $12 (not including tax), plus you get a fantastic experience.

They have some of the coolest named cocktails like the C8C11NO2 + C8H100 (LOVE POTION). First of all, whoa whoa whoa, there are way too many scientific terms here that I haven’t referred back to since high school. Secondly, did you say St. Germain mixed in with sparkling wine AND sparkling water? Okay, fine. I get it. You got me there. Order up, please!
The one drink that I did not get, but highly recommend on getting is a printed cocktail on foam. Choose any photo you want printed out on your drink and you will get a replica of that image. But remember that in order to get a printed cocktail drink, you need to call the bar in advance to place your order.

Drink Cocktails out of Disco Balls and Mini Patron Bottles
Not only did the interior of the bar catch my attention, but also the creativity of where the cocktails are being served into. Tell me that most of the bars you go to serves drinks out of disco balls, or miniature Patron bottles? Not a bunch. And if I wasn’t careful, drinking cocktails out of these eye catching, Instagrammable drinks would’ve made me drink a little bit too much.
Now that’s how Wonder Bar gets you, doesn’t it? It’s fun dancing under the disco ball while drinking out of an actual disco ball.
Overall Experience at the Wonder Bar in Austin TX
If you can’t tell by my facial expression, yes. Yes I did love the Wonder Bar. A lot.
Did I hear those crickets again?
The amount of moments of being absolutely silly and dancing around the Wonder Bar completed my trip to Austin Texas. The moment I stepped foot into the bar, I immediately went back out just to get that first experience all over again. There is just so much venturing inside and outside of the bar that I didn’t want to leave. I can only imagine what it would be like at night!
Jeff and Darren Van Delden are doing a great job with changing up the theme of the room of the bar every month. Even if you’ve only gone to the Wonder Bar once, you might feel the FOMO effect because the following month’s room blew your mind away more than your first. And now, you’ve made the decision to go back the following month in order to get that Instagrammable photo of the newly decorated room. Food and drinks are also greatly priced for the experience you’re paying to get at the bar. And by the end of the night, you’re probably already thinking about scheduling your next visit to avoid FOMO.
So would I recommend taking a visit over to the Wonder Bar in Austin Texas? Absolutely. Especially if you’re a die hard millennial like me, visiting the Wonder Bar should be one of your top, go-to places if you like to enjoy fun, creativity, and nightlife in Austin, Texas.
