Chiang Mai's Best Glamping Site

Have you ever considered glamping in Thailand? Tucked away in Huai Kaeo, Chiang Mai is where you’ll find Norden Glamping, one of Thailand’s most luxurious glamping sites.

I was looking for unique stays in Thailand and came across a beautiful glass house in the middle of the woods in Chiang Mai. This is when I came across Norden Glamping. The moment I saw photos of the property online, I knew that I had to spend a night. So I flew from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, rented a car, and made my way 57km or 34 miles east to the property from the Chiang Mai International Airport. The drive took about an hour but it wasn’t too bad of a drive because I was traveling with someone I had just met. We arrived just in time for sunset.

What to expect?

From the moment we arrived, we were taken care of with amazing care from the staff. I was able to park my car in a private lot at no additional cost. Then, the staff escorted us to our property and started setting up a table outside so that we could enjoy hotpot for dinner. The hotpot was amazing, our bellies were full, and we couldn’t have asked a better way to end off the day.

The staff told us to let them know if we needed anything else since they were going to be on duty the whole night. We communicated through WhatsApp, and Google Translate definitely came in handy.

Amenities

From the moment we settled down, I could only think about how much the property felt like a playground for adults. Our unit was able to sleep 4, as there was one bed on the bottom floor and the other connected to a ladder. The amenities were great as we had a large screen in case we wanted to watch movies, a fridge, 2 bathtubs, rain boots, and a lamp to explore outside of the property. We also called room service, purchased a couple bottles of soju, and called it a night. We were living in a fairytale.

The next morning

We woke up the next morning to a text from the staff that they were going to come to our unit and set up breakfast. We were given a mix of American and Asian style breakfast, and coffee of course.

Checkout was at 11:00 AM, so we spent the rest of our time relaxing in the bathtubs. There were 2 bathtubs, one inside and one outside of the property. We were also given bath bombs, and enough towels to dry ourselves before check out.

Overall Experience

By the time we knew it, the time was inching closer to 11:00 AM. So we packed our bags, went to the front office, and checked out. The check out process was seamless, as the staff thanked us for staying at the property. So we proceeded to our car and went off on our next adventure in Thailand.

Although on the pricer side, spending a night at Norden Glamping was one for the books. It was one of my most unique experiences traveling in Southeast Asia, and is one I recommend anyone traveling through Chiang Mai. Depending on the type of villa that you choose, you can expect to pay anywhere between $300 – $450 USD. But hey, if having your own private villa with modern amenities in the middle of the woods doesn’t sound amazing, then I don’t know what is.
